Many Doors, One Business
A business does not choose where a customer first meets it. One arrives through the website, another through a directory, a third through a review page, and each is effectively a front door forming a first impression.
This means a business has more entrances than it realises, and any one of them can be the deciding one for a given customer, whether or not the business was thinking about it.
The Neglected Entrance
A forgotten listing is a front door left in disrepair. A customer who arrives through it finds old hours or a dead number and turns away, judging the whole business by the one entrance nobody maintained.
Treating every place the business appears as a front door worth keeping tidy is what stops these forgotten entrances from quietly costing customers the business never knew were at the door.
